Virginia Lynnette Brown
Virginia Lynnette Brown, "Lynn," "Nette," "Pear," 73, of Cleburne, TX. Passed away at 7:45AM on Friday August 2, 2019, in her home, after an extended illness.
Born in Fort Worth, TX on April 12, 1946, Lynn was the daughter of the late Theron Leo and Eloise Sheffield Brown.
She completed training in 1972 as a histology technologist and was proud to have served in that capacity at UT Southwestern and private laboratories in the Dallas area. She also served as a Microtomy instructor at MD Anderson.
Lynn was well known for her deep love of animals. She served with various rescue groups, assisting in nationwide transports, fostering, adoption, home visits and education. She is survived by her six cats, Lucy, Chilly, Oliver, CJ, Sammie, Oscar, and two dogs, Sadie and Mia.
In addition to her four-legged children, she is survived by her partner, Amy J. Bartola, of Cleburne, and her beloved siblings and cousins: Mr. Anthony W. Brown and wife Maryann of Cleburne, TX, Mrs. Sherrill Horton and husband Francis of Statesville, NC, Mr. Lesley Brown and wife Clara of Lake Worth, TX, and Mr. Jim Oliphant and wife Cindy of Dallas, TX. In addition, she is survived by her Aunt Margaret Costantino of Cleburne, TX and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Cleburne, TX on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at 11:00AM. Friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Happy Tails, "Adopt a Happy Tail" animal rescue and haven, PO Box 1303, Mabank, TX 75147, or the First United Methodist Church, 1300 W. Westhill Dr. Cleburne, TX 76033.
