Gainesville, Texas - Stephen Gifford, age 79, passed away in Gainesville, Texas, on Friday, March 13,
2020.
Steve was born May 17, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated high-school at
Ozark Adventist Academy in Gentry, AR. College years began at Southwestern Junior
College, Keene, TX, earned his college degree at Union College in Lincoln, NE; one
year of graduate study at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI.
He served as president of the Kansas-Nebraska Conference of SDA in Topeka, KS,
went to the Southeastern California Conference of SDA in Riverside, CA, and was
elected president of the Texas Conference of SDA in Alvarado, TX from which he
retired.
Survivors include his wife Jeanne Gifford, his sisters, Susie of Marshall, TX and Linda
June of Shreveport. LA. Also, sons Trent of CA, Jon of Cleburne, TX, and Michael of
Kettering, OH.
Graveside service was held Sabbath, March 21st at Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado,
TX.
