Sherman G. Ingle Obituary

Sherman G. Ingle, 92, of Grandview, Texas passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Sherman was born to Sherman O. and Vera (Graves) Ingle in Maypearl, Texas on January 25, 1925.

He grew up in Grandview,Texas. He served in the Army Air Corp (Air Force), and was a POW in a German prison camp. Sherman was awarded a Purple Heart and 5 other medals for his bravery and heroism. In 1945 he was honorably discharged and began his career in the education system for many years. He then worked for the Cotton Bowl and then onto working 33 years for the Dallas Cowboys organization until his retirement at the age of 84 years.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Katheryn Ingle; son, Sherman G. Ingle; Brother, Charles Ingle; son, Dewayne Irwin; and grandson, Bleau Ingle.

His survivors include a son, Curtis and Carrie "Lizard" Irwin, Daughter in Law, Theresa Ingle. 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

He will be missed by a community of friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held at the Grandview Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 19 from 6-8 pm.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Grandview Church of Christ on Wednesday, September 20 at 11 am. The internment will follow at the pavilion at the Grandview Cemetery.
