Samuel Clealon Bigham
Samuel Clealon Bigham, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at his home in Cleburne.
He was born Jan. 22, 1937, to Wright and Mable Hardin Bigham in Osceola, Texas.
He attended Cleburne High School and graduated with a GED. He worked as an auto and tractor mechanic and for Santa Fe Railroads until it closed in 1989.
He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church Rio Vista. He served on Rio Vista school board for 14 years, Rio Vista City Council for 10 years and Rio Vista mayor for 14 years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Locker Bigham; mother, Mable Bigham; brother, Wayne Bigham (Judy) of Cecilton, Maryland; two sons, Doug Bigham (Debbie) of Lakeside Village and Monnie Bigham (Cindy) of Cleburne; daughter, Rhonda Bigham Jones (Marvin) of Cleburne; and granddaughter, Braylee Jones of Cleburne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wright, and brother, Byron Bigham.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at First Baptist Church Rio Vista.
The family requests in lieu of flowers to donate to a charity of your choice or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
