Rio Vista, Texas - A graveside service was held for Rubin Allen "Buddy" Barrington, 89 of Rio Vista, Texas at 3:30 PM Sunday, May 25, 2025 in the Rio Vista Cemetery.

Rubin Allen "Buddy" Barrington passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday May 21, 2025.

Buddy was born October 16, 1935 in Hubbard Texas to Sam and Viola Barrington. He married Delores Bohannon on February 23, 1965 and began his career in construction. He began his career working for Andrew Graves in Mart, Texas and later Southwest Construction in Dallas. Buddy was a dedicated heavy equipment operator and the proud owner of Barrington Dozer Services. He played a crucial role in building the major highways connecting Houston to Dallas, leaving a lasting impact on the infrastructure of our state.

In Buddy's free time, he enjoyed raising a garden, managing a small flock of farm animals, and attending tractor shows. Buddy's peacocks, guineas, turkeys, and chickens were a delight to many visitors. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and being surrounded by nature.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Sam Barrington and Viola Corder. He is also survived by his wife of 62 years, Delores Barrington; his son Bobby Barrington; his daughter Debbie Lindamood and her husband Ladd; three grandchildren Rebecca Lindamood, Grace Lindamood, and Emma Lindamood. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his legacy will live on through the memories he created and the lives he touched.
