On Friday June 21, 2019 Melinda "Mendy" Faulkenberry, loving daughter, granddaughter and mother passed away peacefully in Carrizo Springs, Texas.

Melinda was born on May 30, 1968 in Crane Texas to Claude and Linda Faulkenberry. She graduated from South Iredell High School in Statesville N.C. Mendy lived in North Carolina where she had 3 beautiful daughters, she returned home to Texas in 1988 and in 1989 had her son. She was a free soul and lived in many places around Texas including Garland, Galveston, Alvarado, and spent her last years as a resident of Grand Prairie. But Cleburne is where she called home.

Mendy had a passion for the outdoors and loved fishing, camping, and motorcycles even when the sun was too hot and everyone else wanted to find a cold refrigerator to sit in, she would have rather been outdoors. She loved anything purple, unicorns, and Betty Boop to the point her daughters and sister couldn't stand them. For the past 24 years she was known as Meme to all the young kids that came into her life. She was the best Meme to her grandkids and loved spending time talking to them as they described their adventures and daily activities to her, and made a point to call them with a good riddle whenever she heard one. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews and treated each of them as her own, right down to making sure they knew she was proud of them. She was simple, but difficult all in one package and often times would make sure to go out of her way to make your life difficult just to keep you on your toes. She was a devoted friend to all that had the pleasure of knowing her and would give anyone her last dollar if she thought they would need it more then her. She loved her Dog Hass. She enjoyed road trips, especially to visit her sister in Carrizo Springs where she spent her last days sitting on the porch and enjoying her favorite foods.

Mendy was proceeded in death by her father Claude David Faulkenberry, brother in law Jimmy Estrada, paternal grandparents & maternal Grandfather. She is survived by her mother Linda Berry of Grandview Tx, Grandmother Lola McClain of Cleburne TX, Daughter Claudia Faulkenberry of Crystal City TX, Daughter Heather Allen & husband Kreston, Daughter Misty Allen of Fort Worth, TX and son Matthew Faulkenberry & wife Kaitlen of Rowlett, TX. Siblings Charles Faulkenberry of Cleburne TX sister Jency Estrada of Carrizo Springs, TX, one grandson, and five granddaughters as well as many Nephews, Nieces, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

The family will have a Memorial to Celebrate her life at a later date.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the American Foundation for the Blind.

I miss her everyday! She was funny, strong, and had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known! I’ll never forget all our sleepovers as grown women where we stayed up all night doing make overs, facials, & taking selfies! She was my hero even when I didn’t know it!

oh the back in the day memories. You always made us smile and laugh. You taught me many life lessons that i will never forget. You were the best person to vent to and to cry to. I wish we wouldn't have lost touch. Prayers to the family and friends. I know your looking down thinking of what to do next.

I just don't have 1 special memory but many. No matter where our lives took us you seem to always be there for me. I will miss you so much and miss those phone calls wondering where I am. Tell my mom I love her and don't forget to give her that hard time that only you knew how to do. I love you so much that my heart is truly empty. Forever sister's.
