Kathy was born in Cleburne, Tx on September 26, 1946 to William Lee and Ollie Myrle Bains Powell of Kopperl, TX. After graduating Kopperl High School, she received her Master's degree in Education from Tarleton State University and began teaching in Blum ISD and retired from Rio Vista ISD in May 2004.

On December 29, 1972 Kathy married the love of her life, Billy Gene Baugh. She loved her home, family and many friends dearly. She had a special place in her heart for all of the "kids" whom she taught over the years. She loved Jesus and God, and all who knew her, knew that about her. She was a longtime member of United Methodist Church in Kopperl. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Gene Baugh; brother, George W (Lee) Powell and niece, Deborah Powell, and her fur baby, Wiggi. Survivors include her son, Michael Lee Baugh and wife, Sheila of Rio Vista, Tx.; sisters Eleanor Sue (Susie) Powell Woodson and husband, Richard of Amarillo Tx, and Carolyn J Powell Garner of Aledo Tx; nieces, Cynthia (Cindy) Renee Garner Myers and Michael Myers of Aledo, Tx, and Jennifer Powell Petri and husband, Michael of Cheyenne, Wy; nephews Lee Alexander Powell and wife, Michelle of Alamogordo, NM, Gary Powell and wife of Austin Tx, and Robert Alan Myers of Aledo Tx, and niece, Mary Carol Myers O'Donnell and husband, Sean of Aledo, Tx. Numerous cousins and grand-nieces and nephews as well her fur babies; Sissy, Sadie and Daisy, and grand-fur baby, Hank. We will miss her immensely and love her dearly.
