Joann (Boen) Randolph Obituary
West, Texas - Joann (Boen) Randolph, 75, of West, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waco. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Trail to The Cross Cowboy Church in Hillsboro, with Pastor Kenny Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Born in Cleburne, Texas, to Jack and Alma Jo (Crecelius) Taylor, Joann grew up in Blum, where she developed her lifelong love of sunshine, laughter, and the simple joys in life. She graduated from Hill Junior College with a degree in accounting and married Lynn Boen in 1970. Together they raised two children, Buffy and Brandon, before Lynn's passing in 1981.
Joann spent most of her career supporting the healthcare industry, always bringing warmth and compassion to those around her. In retirement, she enjoyed sunny days, flip-flops, and moments that reminded her of the beach.
She was a loving mother, proud grandmother, devoted sister, and dear friend. To know her was to be welcomed with a smile, a hug, and often a hilarious story — sometimes shared with a picture of Sadieboo, her daughter's beloved pup, who always brought her joy.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lynn Boen; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Boen; and brothers-in-law, Gary Dan Boen and Roger Dell Schronk.
She is survived by her daughter, Buffy Prestwood (Mike) of Blum; son, Brandon Boen (Sara) of Mansfield; grandson, Granger Boen of Chicago, IL; sister, Cinda Schronk of Hillsboro; stepmother, Ruth Taylor of Cleburne; nieces, Jill Guthrie (Rodney) of Edmond, OK, and Jacelyn Brown (Chris) of Waxahachie; nephew, Jack Schronk (Jessica) of Tomball; and a large extended family and group of friends who will carry her light forward.
Joann's life was filled with joy, kindness, and unforgettable memories. Her warmth will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every sunset that reminds us of her love.
