Our beloved husband and father went to be with his heavenly Father on Father's Day, June 21, 2026. Charles, the son of W.H. and Maurice Jowell of Cleburne, was energetic and full of life.

Growing up in Cleburne, he was involved in all sports and was always a responsible young man, working and wanting to get ahead in life. After graduating from Cleburne High School, Charles went on to attend Arlington State College on a football scholarship.

After two years of ASC, he came home to marry his only true love, Lynda Lee. Upon her graduation, they married on April 2, 1960, at First Baptist Church in Cleburne, Texas. They decided to move to Arlington, Texas to complete Charles' education and to start their life together, having their three children, David, Kelly, and Jeff.

After gaining experience in property management and selling insurance, Charles decided to give real estate a try. He started Charles Jowell Realty and after several years he got into real estate development. This would be his calling!!! Charles developed thousands of lots all over the metroplex and continued to put land deals together until his death.

Charles served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and cruising around the world.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lynda Jowell of Arlington; sons, Charles David Jowell, Jr. and spouse, Anne Marie, of Redondo Beach, California and Jeffrey Jowell of Arlington; daughter, Kelly Kristen Jowell and spouse, James Patrick Woodruff, of Arlington; brother W.H. Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
