Grandview, Texas - Billy Bob Aldridge of Grandview, Texas passed away in Grandview on June 1, 2020, at the age of 101. He was born on May 21, 1919, in Walters, Oklahoma to the parents of Bob and Mollie Aldridge. Their family moved back to Grandview when he was two and has resided in Grandview in the Antioch and Rock Tank Communities all his life. On December 24, 1943, he married Della Fern Aldridge. They had 3 children Bobby Aldridge (deceased), Sharon York and Mary Dell Aldridge. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Seventh Fleet in the United States Navy stationed in the South Pacific. Later he was commissioner for Johnson County Precinct 4 and served from January 1, 1971, until December 31, 1986. As commissioner he made 3 trips to Austin to help the city get certification to build the Grandview Nursing Home, he was helpful in the building of the Grandview Community Center, the present football field was rebuilt to its present location, and paved the first track for the high school, and paved the parking lot for the school. During his time as commissioner, he paved 90% of all the county roads in Precinct 4.

Billy Bob is survived by his 2 daughters Mary Dell Aldridge of Cleburne, Sharon York of Grandview, two grandchildren Alisa York O'Neill and Troy Hugh York, and three great-granddaughters Lauren O'Neill, Della York and Grace York and his sister Bessie Lea Hodak (103 years young). Preceding him in death is his wife Della Fern Aldridge, a son Bobby Aldridge, a grandson Lance Aldridge, and second wife Billie (Winnie Fay) Aldridge. His parents Bob and Mollie (who lived to 104), sister Clara Radar, and his brother Joe, who he farmed and visited with daily.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Grandview Cemetery Association or Watts Chapel Methodist Church.
