Service for Shirley Grigsby, 80, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Tony Tawater will officiate. Committal will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Ft. Worth. Pallbearers will be Dylan Grigsby, Adam Rodriguez, Jeff Summey, Dru Summey, Donald Grigsby, and Dustin Grigsby. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Shirley Grigsby passed away on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 in Ft. Worth. She was born Sept. 3, 1937 in Aledo to Drury Cook and Bettie Nell Paris Cosby. She married Donald Everett Grigsby, Sr. on Oct. 16, 1957 in New Orleans, LA and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1998, after 41 years of marriage.
Mrs. Grigsby was a LVN, retiring after 42 years in the nursing profession. She was a member of Lone Willow Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three children, Darlene Grigsby, Donald Grigsby and wife Diann and Darryl Grigsby, all of Cleburne; eight grandchildren, Aarika Moore, Donald Grigsby III, Heidi Hollinger, Candi Pearson, Dustin Grigsby, Dylan Grigsby, Kylee Grigsby, and Tiffany Cowley; seven great grandchildren; brother, Sam Cosby of Graford; sister, Betty Jo Burnett of Granbury; sister-in-law, Janice Grigsby of Cleburne; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and ten brothers and sisters.
