Marja's Story

Marja Lee Hoffman, 88 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening,
November 18, 2016, at Heritage Trails Nursing Home in Cleburne, Texas, peacefully in her sleep.
Funeral services for Marja will be held at Alvarado Worship Center located at 6424 County Road 707, Alvarado, Texas, on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the afternoon. The family will be available for visitation immediately prior to the service from Noon-2 p.m. Reverend Doyle Adams, Sr., will officiate. Immediately following the service, burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado located on old US Highway 81 in Alvarado. There we will gather to lay her earthly body to rest, knowing we will meet again in heaven.
Marja Lee Dalton was born at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas, on June 10, 1928, the only child of Alice Lucille Baker. She married James Owen Hoffman on November 8, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas. She is survived by James, her husband of 64 years; daughter, Mary Kathy Gray, of Fort Worth; son and wife, John and Shelia Gray of Alvarado; 4 grandchildren, Larry Gray, of Delaware, AR; Michael and wife Jennifer Gray of Belleville, AR; Jamie and wife Amy Gray of San Antonio, TX; Jana and Jeremy Davis of Las Vegas, NV; 6 great-grandchildren, Aaryn Gates, Derrick Gray, Darby Gray, Casey Gray, Emily Gray, and Joshua Davis; plus, many other extended family members. She is preceded in death by her mother; granddaughter, Theresa Gayle Gray; grandson, Gary Dwayne Gray; daughter-in-law, Rosella Marie Gray; and son, Clayborn Ray Gray.
Marja was a long-time member of First Assembly of God in Alvarado, TX, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Until bedridden by a stroke, she was also active in the Women's Ministries and many more church activities. She also volunteered at Huguley Hospital in Burleson, TX. Marja loved the Lord and had a very giving heart. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
