Carole (Marci)'s Story
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Tim 4:7. The world mourns its loss but Heaven rejoices at the arrival of beloved sister, mother and faithful servant, Carole (Marci) Marcille Emerson. Marci passed away peacefully on May 24, 2017, in Burleson, Texas at the age of 81.
Marci was born on July 28, 1935, to Harold Thomas and Pauline (Cordon) Gabbert. She graduated from Loyola University with a Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling. She married Thomas Carl Emerson in 1954 and began her life as a military wife. Marci was fulfilled in her service to others through counseling and Bible studies as a member of Cleburne Bible Church. She was an absolute giant of Christian love and grace.
Marci is survived by her brother Kenneth K. Gabbert, and wife Amy Jo of Victoria, TX; sister Francie (Gabbert) Campbell of Lewisville, TX; sons Mark and wife, Emma of Splendora, TX; Clint and wife, Jane of Suwanee, GA; John and wife, Debbie of Brookeville, MD; and Rich and wife, Debbie of Burleson, TX, along with 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Harold T. Gabbert, and brothers Gary Dean Gabbert of Havensville, KS, and Ronnie Gabbert of Athens, TX.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at Mountain Valley Country Club 391 Country Club Drive Joshua, Texas 76058. Condolences may be sent to her son, Rich, at 2512 Briarcrest Dr., Burleson, Texas 76028.
