Virginia "Ann" Parker, 86, of Grandview, passed away on October 10, 2017 at her home in Grandview, surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home (Grandview) on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00. Minister Buddy Fry will officiate. Burial will take place at Odom Cemetery (Grandview). Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Ann was born in Arlington, Texas to Bill and Daisy Poland on February 27, 1931. She was a cheerleader at Arlington High School and graduated in 1949. After completing her education, she married Dan Parker April 21, 1951. They were happily married for 51 years.
She belonged to Tate Springs Baptist Church and was an active member of the PTA. In addition to being an excellent cook and homemaker while raising four children, she worked hands on, alongside Dan on the family ranch. She even managed to equip "her" tractor with a TV so she could watch her soap opera!
She loved to travel, especially to the beach and play 42 with their circle of friends.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Parker; parents Bill and Daisy Poland.
Ann is survived by her children Debbie Parker Doty and husband Rick Doty, Lindi Parker Johnson and husband Rick Johnson, Brenda Parker Padgett and husband Dennis Padgett, and Danny Parker of Grandview; brother Billy Poland; two grandchildren Tave Parker Doty and Matthew Tyler Padgett; and numerous family and friends.
