Ruth's Story

Ruth Ann Daniels, 77, of Alvarado was a longtime resident for 32 years, she was born November 9, 1938 in Marlin, Texas. Ruth earned her wings on October 15, 2016 in Alvarado, Texas. Ruth was loved by all, she walked everywhere in this town and never met a stranger; they always called her The little Indian lady but mostly they called her Grandma. She was on the board of the Alvarado Library for 22 years and became vice president for the list 11 years. She would always get involved with any issues at town meetings. If you wanted to know what was going on in town she would know. She is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son; Debbie Lamb, Regina Hill and her husband Billy, Lanelle Farmer and her husband Russell all of Alvarado, and son Craig Haney of Kaufmen. She has 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and friends, especially her two best friends; Sherry Rodriguez, there was not a day she did not stop at the senior center and spend hours with her, and Sherry Carter of 12 years who was also her church riding partner.
Viewing visitations will be held at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado. Visitations will be open door all day until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 19, 2016. Pastor Jerrold Martinez will be officiating the service at Joyful Life Church of God on highway 67 next to Franks place at 10:00 A.M. on October 20, 2016. Where she has been a charter member for 20 years. Interment followed at the cemetery. There will be a dinner following the services at VFW on highway 67.
