Celebration of Life services for Roy Bruce, 78, of Keene, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Alvarado Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial will follow in the Keene Memorial Park.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Rosser Funeral Home, 1664 W. Henderson Street, Cleburne, Texas, 76033.
Roy went peacefully to rest in Jesus surrounded by his family and close loved ones on Saturday, December 23, 2017. He and his twin brother, Troy, were born in Alvarado, Texas on October 18, 1939 to Lee and Mary (Riley) Bruce.
Roy married Oma Jean Adkins in 1967, celebrating their 50th Anniversary on December 19th.
He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961 as a member of the 801st Air Division.
Roy was a skilled and talented sheet metal machinist and founding member of the Alvarado Seventh-day Adventist Church. Roy loved the Lord with all of his heart and till the very end shared his faith, which gave him and all who came in contact with him a great sense of peace!
Relationships were paramount to Roy. All who met him, young and old, were immediately drawn to his congenial and loving spirit. He exuded a one of a kind loving sense of humor that instantly warmed a room. Roy will be great missed by all, but his legacy will live on in all that have had the pleasure of knowing him.
A memorial fund for Roy Bruce will be established at South Side Bank in Cleburne, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Roy Bruce Jr.; and four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Oma Jean Bruce; children, Mary Pierce and husband, Tobey, of Katy, Texas, Greg Bruce and wife, Mercedes, of Santa Clarita, California, Valarie Ruscelli, and husband, Paul, of Fort Worth, Texas, Lisa Pillow and husband, Dwayne, of Keene, and Scott Bruce of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Jane Maberry and husband, Wayne, of Cleburne, Margie Moore, and husband, Danny, of Cleburne, Texas, and Bersha McIntyre of Dripping Springs, Texas; brother, Richard Bruce of Cleburne; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
