Mary Katharine "Katye" Head, 98, was called home on December 2, 2017.
Mrs. Head was born in 1919 to Frank and Kate (Climer) Bottom in Victoria, Texas. She was a homemaker who especially loved to sew. Her early professional years were spent teaching in a two-room school in Goatneck, Texas with her husband, Mr. Charles W Head. They married on January 13, 1940 and celebrated 65 years of marriage and two beautiful daughters.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Head is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and all her siblings. She leaves behind a legacy of survivors including her daughter, Charlotte Lawson and husband Raymond, Granddaughter Rowena Lawson and great grandson Max Boston and wife Ashley, great-great granddaughter Brindley and Briar Kate (her namesake). Her other surviving Daughter, Teresa Lampman and husband Jim, Grandson Lance Lampman and wife Kimberly, great grandson, Eric Lampman with Brooke Stewart, Great Grandson, Cody Lampman and wife Hannah, Great Granddaughter, Lynli Lampman and Grandson Kevin Lampman and friend Yang Wu. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Rowena Head and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Ladies Bible Class at the Alvarado Church of Christ.
