Marjorie's Story

FORT WORTH — Marjorie Ann Adams, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2016.
Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Genesis United Methodist Church, 7635 South Hulen Street, Fort Worth. Burial: She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne, in a private ceremony.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Breadbasket Program at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Cleburne, or to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or www.alz.org
Margie was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on October 21, 1929 to Horace Francis Cantrell and Anna Ruth Cantrell. She loved to read and excelled in school. She made friends easily wherever she went and had a passion for travel and experiencing different cultures.
During her life journey Margie was a Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout troop leader, PTA home room mother, active volunteer with Operation Head Start, and Habitat for Humanity. During the years she and her husband lived in Cleburne, she was an enthusiastic member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and served as an UMW president as well as volunteering in the church office and for the Breadbasket program. She cherished her many friendships made at St. Mark, especially in the Fidelis class.
After her husband's passing she relocated to Fort Worth to live with her daughter, and joined Genesis United Methodist Church.
She was a devoted wife and nurturing mother and was known for her love of family, wonderful sense of humor, tender heart, and determination to make everyone around her feel loved and appreciated. She delighted in celebrating family gatherings, especially by cooking delicious meals and serving them on her beloved grandmother's china.
Margie has been reunited in heaven with her parents and loving husband of 57 years, Bob Adams, and many family members and friends.
Survivors: Her son, Robert Adams Jr.; daughter, Susan Kelly Adams; brother, James Richard Cantrell and his wife, Margie Ruth; nephew, Jimmie Cantrell and his wife Sherry Cantrell; niece, Patricia Cantrell Alexander and her husband, Paul Alexander; along with dear nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
