Kaylea's Story

Text size

FORT WORTH - Kaylea Mae Ward "Sister" passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. God delivered Kaylea to a loving family Tuesday Jan. 16, 1996. Her dad, Jason Royal Ward and her mother, Pamela Jean Blick shared her immediately with family waiting for her arrival.
Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Chapel. Committal service: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood.
As Kaylea grew she became very fond of her grandparents, Rev. David Royal Ward lovingly called Papa and her grandmother, Eva Jean Kelley Ward. As a growing girl she went to grandma for everything, they were best friends. Grandma taught her how to read, write and proper grammar before she started kindergarten. Kaylea learned how to listen and observe from her dad. He also taught her how to dance and have fun. From her big brother, Dustyn she learned how to have good sportsman like conduct on and off the field. He shielded her from trouble and protected her from harm. Together Dustyn and Kaylea were invincible and sometimes inseparable.
Kaylea graduated from Cleburne High School in 2014. She excelled in cosmetology and athletics. As dad had taught her dance, she tried out for the Cleburne High School Dance Team and in her sophmore year became the team captain. She had also been a cheerleader first on the PeeWee Football level on in to high school.
Her grandparents taught her the Bible and she attended church with them quite often. She also went to gospel concerts with her grandparents and her Uncle Bailey as they were part of the Heaven Bound Because Gospel Singers. She and her brother would often sing a song or two with them on stage. Kaylea wasn't bashful in any way.
Kaylea was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne where she confessed the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior and she and her brother, Dustyn were baptized by their pastor, Rev. Charles Payne, in the same service. They had requested that Papa and Uncle Bailey sing two special songs for that service...Ain't No Grave and Joy on the Other Side of Jordan.
Kaylea joined at Home her grandparents, Papa, Rev. David Royal Ward, Eva Jean Kelley Ward, Larry Blick, Jr., and wife, Wanda Marie Jones Blick.
