Katherine "Kay" Elizabeth (Capich) Pluska, 98, of Cleburne, Texas, took her last breath Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in Saint Joseph Hospital in Joliet, Illinois.
Born Nov. 17, 1918, in Middlesex, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John and Matilda (Dragovich) Capich.
When still a toddler her family moved to Eagle River, Wisconsin, where they farmed and raised their family. Kay attended the Eagle River Union High School, graduating in 1938. The following year she moved to Chicago, Illinois. She later married and raised seven children.
Kay was employed by Aldens Mail Order as a quality control inspector supervisor, where she retired and in 1990 Kay moved to Cleburne, Texas, until December 2016, when her granddaughter moved her to Joliet, Illinois.
Kay found joy playing games with family and friends. "GREED" was next to her favorite, Bingo. She was known as Bingo "Kay." She was a member of Saint Peter the Fisherman Parish in Eagle River, Wisconsin, Saint Jarlaths in Chicago, Illinois, and Calvary Baptist in Cleburne, Texas.
Katherine Pluska is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Hook and Linda Nash, both of Cleburne, Texas; two god-daughters, April Pohlman of Joliet, Illinois, and Karen Bauer of Joshua Tree, California; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Mike Poturaliski, 1947, Caisimir Pluska, 1973; two daughters and two sons, Patricia McKee, 1998, Kathleen Laub, 2014, Peter Poturalski, 1979, and Richard Pluska, 2013.
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. April 19, 2017, at Buena Vista, 2205 Pipeline Road, Cleburne, TX 76033.
