Johnnie Vondell Johnson passed away peacefully in Reno, Nevada on February 13, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born on January 6, 1928 in Cleburne, to George T. and Lena Wheat Montgomery. She was a homemaker, gifted mother, and quite successful bowler in her day.
Johnnie is survived by her two sons, Tom and wife, Robyn, of Reno, Nevada, and Brent Johnson, and wife, Melissa, of Cleburne; four grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Cassidy, and Cameron. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Alton Montgomery, and sisters, Pauline Olhousen of Ft. Worth, Marceille Kirkpatrick of Cleburne, Nadine Easdon of Waxahachie and Bobbie Williams of White Settlement.
She married Kenneth Johnson on July 3, 1947 and raised her two sons with him. Most of their marriage she was a resident of DeSoto, a suburb of Dallas.
In late 1987 she married Roy Stewart of Dallas, and resided in Paris, Texas until 2001. In 2002, she moved to Reno, Nevada to be near her son, Tom, so that he could care for her.
Services for Johnnie will be graveside at Rosehill Cemetery, part of the Cleburne Municipal Cemetery on Saturday, November 25, at 11:00 AM.
She will be greatly missed by all.
