John Holden, 72, passed away at his home in Keene, TX, on May 8, 2018. John was born April 2, 1946 to George and Gracie Yvonne Holden in Aransas Pass, TX. He was the youngest of 6 children.
John went to school at Aransas Pass High School. Then served in the Army from 1963-74. At 17 years old, he went to Germany, then volunteered for two tours of duty in Vietnam.
After completing his tour of duty, John completed the requirements needed for Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked at several local Long-Term Facilities caring for the elderly and spreading his love and affection to all. This is where he met and married his loving wife of 1 Year, Bonnie Wynell Folmar Holden.
Johns greatest joys in life was fishing; riding his Harley; spending time with his family and friends; making people laugh.
John is survived by his wife, Bonnie; one brother, Jerry Green of Dallas. His two sons, John Holden Jr. and George. Two step-sons, Richard and Rodney McGlothlin. In addition to their spouses; children; grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.
John was preceded in death, his parents, George and Gracie Holden; his daughter Serena Leigh Holden; one sister, Yvonne Parker; two brothers Randolph and Rudolph Holden and one half-brother, Jack Green.
Everyone that met John immediately felt the love and compassion he had for everyone. The most precious giving, caring person anyone would ever meet. A father figure and true friend to all. The biggest shoes anyone would ever want to try and fill.
The Memorial Service will be conducted at Covenant Church at Union Hill May 19, 2018 at 1030 AM. 1733 Conveyor Dr. Joshua, TX 76058.
