James Ira Parker 72 years old passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Peoria, Texas. He was born on June 25, 1944 in Woodbury, Texas to A.G and Thelma Parker. He was the only son with three sisters Jannie Fletcher, Daphna Hart, and Mary Toten.
Jimmy attended Godley High School. On January 6, 1966 he married Twilla Jean Happney of Clay County, West Virginia. Jimmy worked at Johns Manville for 44 years without a missed day of work. Jimmy was an avid fisherman and camper, family leader and outstanding provider. Jimmy loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and working on his farm after retirement.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife Jean Parker of 51 years; sons James, Jackie, and Jody; 7 grandchildren; Blake, Austin, Dawson, Jacob, Ashlyn, Keagan, and Levi.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday January 11, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home, 301 W. Elm St. in Hillsboro, Texas.
