Deacon Brown passed away from complications of a stroke/pneumonia on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, in Cleburne and was born on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1954, at the old Johnson County Memorial Hospital. He graduated from Cleburne High School with the spring Class of 1973 and was a gifted student with many talents.
Mr. Brown worked as a carmen for the old historic Santa Fe Railroad for over 13 years until the shops closed down and his talents in graphing and blueprinting led him to cable jobs in Corsicana and on to Key West, Florida, before returning home to Cleburne.
He was raised in a home with four sisters and he was the only boy. His parents were Joseph and Billie Skinner and maternal grandparents were Howard and Daisy Brown.
Survivors include his daughters, Latrice Marshall (Morris) of Dallas, Texas, Cynthia Hawkins of Cleburne and D'Angela R. Brown Stafford of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Beverly Earl (Rev. Donald), Brenda Mitchell (Deacon Donald) and Nadine Hill, all of Cleburne; six grandchildren, Aryanna, Amari, K'Angela, Morris, Malon and Aubryell; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and maternal aunt, Beatrice Pollard.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Skinner, on June 7, 2009; youngest sister, Lisa Skinner, on Feb. 27, 1980; and nephew, Bernard Mitchell, on Aug. 14, 2009.
