George  Holland


Funeral services for George Clayton Holland, Jr, 86, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Field Street Baptist Church with Dr. John Hall and the Rev. John Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mr. Holland was born September 12, 1932 in Gladewater, Texas, the son of Mamie Wright (King) and George Clayton Holland, Sr.
Moving to Cleburne at age 5, he graduated from Cleburne High School in 1950 and went on to graduate from North Texas State College and Texas Wesleyan.
Mr. Holland taught at Fulton Jr. High in Cleburne from 1956-1966, Cleburne High School from 1967-1977; and was principal at Santa Fe Kindergarten until his retirement in 1992.
He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church where he served as deacon and volunteered for SOS and was Building Chairman until he was no longer able.
Mr. Holland moved to Heartis Assisted Living in 2016.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Clay Frank Holland; daughter, June Elaine Holland; granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Morrow Jackson; and brother-in-law, Dean Scott.
Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann (Youngblood) Holland; children, Vicki Simpson, Sherri Morrow and husband, Wendell, David Holland and wife, Nancy, Leann Ingram and husband, Ray and Murray Holland and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Jonathan Morrow and wife, Gayla, Clayton Ingram, Lauren Kunce and husband, Austin, Natalie Holland, Nolan George Holland and wife, Brittney and Chris Jackson and wife, Mindi; great grandchildren, Mara Jackson, Josh Jackson, Josiah Jackson, Meghan Jackson, Haylee Ingram, Makala Ingram, Clayton Ingram, Jr., Wyatt Ingram, Annabelle Morrow, Lillian Nancy Morrow, Samuel Dean Morrow, Caiden Kunce, Addison Kunce and Kamlyn Kunce; brother, Larry Nathan Holland and wife, Norman; sister-in-law, Doris Scott; and many other family members and friends.

Mr George Holland was one of my favorite teachers. He taught me at Fulton and at Cleburne High. He was one good man. He would cut up with us in class. One of the few that would. I know he will be missed.
