Connie's Story

Connie Louise Houston Strange, 68 of Cleburne passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at home after a fifteen-year battle with breast cancer. She was born February 14, 1948 to Otto and Connie Houston in Newton, Mississippi.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She worked as an administrative assistant in Mississippi and Texas school systems for fifteen years before becoming a successful real estate agent/broker in Johnson and Tarrant County Texas. She was a long-time member of the In His Name Circle of the International Order of Kings Daughters and Sons. Connie strived to put the needs others before herself, even during her final days on earth. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Mike Strange; two sons, Chris and wife Kym from Granbury, and Eli Strange of Fort Worth; three sisters, Sarah Chapman of Maitland, FL, Jimmie Pearson of Philadelphia MS, and Linda Russell of San Jose, CA; three Grandchildren, Amber Strange, Eva Elmore and Caroline Strange; and, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Connie Lumm Houston and Otto Samuel Houston.
A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held Friday, December 30th at Church of The Holy Comforter, Cleburne, TX.
Connie and her family request, in lieu of flowers, that donations in her memory be made to one of the following organizations:
